The Black Jack Car Sound Deadening sheets are as described. The Black Jack sound deadening sheets use a high-quality adhesive that will stay once properly applied. These sound deadening sheets are really easy to use. These sheets are easy to cut and are pliable enough that you can place them perfectly where they need to go. These sound deadening sheets are versatile and can be used in many different locations. Once installed, these sound deadening sheets do a great job of cutting down on unwanted sounds and rattles. These sound deadening sheets do a great job of quieting the inside of your vehicle. The Black Jack Car Sound Deadening are a good value.
The box arrived with 13 sheets (270×370 mm each, ~1.08 sqft/sheet) vacuum-sealed in heavy poly. No curled edges, no crushed corners. Each sheet is a sandwich: aluminum constraint layer, thick butyl/mastic core, release liner. At 3.6 mm (142 mil) it's substantially thicker than the 50–80 mil budget mats—you feel the mass just peeling the liner.Adhesive grab is excellent. Pressed onto clean, degreased inner door skins (2020 Ranger), it bit instantly with zero repositioning needed. Rolled with a 2" steel roller; no air pockets, no lifting edges after 24 hrs. The controlled tack lets you place deliberately but doesn't fight you. Minimal odor—faint mastic scent that vanished in two days with windows down.Installed doors only (outer skin + inner panel), ~60% coverage per door. Results:- Panel resonance gone. The "thunk" knocking on the outer skin is now a dull, dead "thud." No more oil-canning on highway expansion joints.- Midbass tightened noticeably. The 6.5" mids in the doors no longer flex the panel at volume; kick drum has more weight, less bloom. It's the clearest speaker upgrade per dollar I've done.At $63.89 (~$4.56/sqft) it's pricier than 50 mil rolls (~$1.30/sqft), but you're buying thickness and constraint layer performance, not just coverage. For doors where space behind the panel is tight and you want maximum damping per square inch, the 3.6 mm Super Jack earns it. Would buy again for floor/trunk next round.
These sound deadening sheets feel like they are made of very high quality material. The material is very heavy which leads me to believe that it will do an excellent job for the purpose that I will be using it for. I own a 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata where all of the sound deadening and insulation material from the floor part of the car needed to be removed & I intend to remove the seats again and pull up the carpeting & install this in as many places as I am able to get it on the floorboard of my Mazdaspeed Miata. The adhesive on the sheets seems to be extremely strong and so I am confident that once I install this that I shouldn't have to worry about it coming loose anytime soon. The material is also capable of being cut so that I will be able to fit it in as perfectly as possible into my Miata. I was curious as to how much the sheets weighed & so I put all 18 of them on my scale & they weighed in at 16.8 pounds for all 18 of them, which would equal out to about 0.93 pound per sheet, or a little under one pound for each sheet of this material. I have not had a chance to actually install the material into my Miata yet, however in my opinion these sheets are excellent quality & I expect them to make a big difference in the road noise that enters My Miata at highway speeds. Definitely recommended. Photos are of my Mazdaspeed Miata and of underneath the carpeting in this Miata that for now has no insulation or sound deadener on its floorboard throughout the vehicle.
This item shipped and arrived to me fast. I ordered the Black Jack series to install in my brand new truck that will arrive soon. I have been a fan of sound deadening mats not only for car audio but also road noise and overall comfort while driving. This Black Jack series is nice and thick and the adhesive is very strong so it is not going to move once installed. I will have to order more of this as I used 2 sheets for testing and to finish off a door in my current vehicle where I ran out and needed more than one box to complete my new project anyway. This mat is very easy to cut and install. This mat in my opinion is more for large areas like inside doors, roofs, floor, etc... I installed it on the inside of my rear truck door. The mat laid down easily with the use of professional install tools. The mat rolled out tight and flat. I can feel the performance of this mat by just tapping on the outside of the door it feels structurally stronger and the noise level has been reduced. I personally did not notice any offensive odors / smells while installing. I do recommend that no matte where you place this mat to first thoroughly clean the area with clear Isopropal Alcohol so that the adhesive has a solid background to attach to. Start slow with the mat not fully stuck to the area you are working on and work your way in or out a little at a time for the best outcome. Save all of your cuts and small pieces as you can always find a place for the extras. I also recommend picking up an installation kit if you do not have one. You can pick up an in-expensive kit and it will work just fine. The install kits help to get this mat down in the seams and contours of the vehicles body lines. The cost of this mat is fair for the quality you get and how many square feet it covers plus delivered to your door. I rated this product 5 stars.
